How Much Will it Cost?
Repair
If your motor insurance includes cover for glass damage, then a simple windscreen 'good-as-new' repair is usually free of charge (depending on insurer) upon production of your insurance certificate. If you don't have any glass cover, we'll let you know the cost in advance. It will typically be between £60 and £90.
Replace
Most fully comprehensive motor insurance policies also cover you for complete windscreen, side or rear glass replacement. All you need to pay is the policy excess and produce your insurance certificate at the time of fitment. Typical excess amounts are between £50 and £80, depending on your insurer.
If your insurance doesn't cover you for windscreen replacement, the cost will depend on the type of glass you need for your vehicle. But don't worry, we'll let you know the cost before we do any work!
RAC Auto Windscreens works closely with the motor insurance industry so we'll look after all the paperwork. If there is anything to pay, we'll always let you know in advance.
