Driver Compliance Check is RAC’s innovative new approach to help you to meet your legal obligations.
If one of your drivers has an accident whilst driving on company business - you could be held liable if they do not hold a valid licence. This applies to any employee deemed to be driving on company business, not just company car drivers.
If you don’t run rigorous and thorough checks on the driving licences of employees driving on company business you are running a risk.
You need to check and retain records that drivers are licenced to drive the vehicles that they are allocated.
With Driver Compliance Check, we will check each driver within your fleet directly with the DVLA and produce a detailed report.
What happens?
The approach is designed to remove the administrative burden and cost associated with checking each licence - helping to make life as simple as possible for you.
Step 1:
You send us details of all your employees who drive on company business, preferably on an excel spreadsheet.
Step 2:
Will will then get each of your drivers to sign a mandate which gives us permission to approach the DVLA on your behalf. You will receive a bespoke report advising you about the status of each driver.
For the drivers deemed most at risk - we can also make recommendations for practical programs to help improve safety such as driver training.
How many checks should you do?
We can check as many or as few licences as you would like up to four times a year for the next three years. We recommend that you should increase the number of checks where drivers are at greater risk of losing their licence.
